In honor of next year’s 60th anniversary of Clint’s first appearance, I’m organizing a couple of Clint-centric events!!

I am only a single person though, so I am looking for a couple of people willing to be co-organizers! If you are interested in helping, shoot me a message here or on my main blog (@carcrash429)

If you are interested in either event (briefly described below), follow this blog for future updates

June 2024: Birthday Bingo (either this-or-that or daily prompts, depending on how many ideas we can come up with!)

September 2024: Minibang + Big Bang! Ship-agnostic and source-agnostic, only requirement is that Clint be a/the main character :)

please reblog/send to all your Clint peeps! He deserves the love!!!

Bobbi from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (as portrayed by Adrianne Palicki) in the style of DC Bombshells.

[Image  ID: Art of Bobbi from the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the 1940s atompunk pinup style of DC Bombshells, posing over a blue and yellow textured background with a white swoosh going diagonally across it. Bobbi is a slender white woman, with long, slightly curly blonde hair done up in victory rolls, blue eyes, and red lips. She’s wearing her hero uniform: the bodice is dark blue with white trim on the sailor collar and a white stripe down the middle; the skirt is black, pleated, and currently flying in keeping with pinup art conventions; there’s a belt under her bust (this leads to her baton holster on her back, which can’t be seen); she has dark blue fingerless gloves with black bracers over them; and she’s wearing thigh-high dark blue stockings with black gun garters over them and knee-high black boots. She’s standing on tiptoe and holding her signature batons in either hand. /.End  ID]

The movie has been out for a while now, but what are your thoughts/feelings on the MCU being called universe 616 in MoM?

awful. terrible. there are literal an infinite amount of numbers and they used the one distinguisher that we have for talking about the main universe of the comics. you literally just introduced the concept of multiple universes too and still went and said “but don’t think of that one lol.” now people are calling the mcu 616 too which is ruining the whole organizational ecosystem everywhere. not to mention the irony that they started out more as an earth 1610 adaptation bc they wanted to be more grounded and straight up cribbed miles’ earth 1610 likeness for peter

and there was no reason tbh. if you’re a comic fan who would’ve already known the main comics universe is called 616 you would be mad that they basically swatted away the universe, and if you’re just your standard casual mcu watcher you would just think “oh fun, number assignments!” with any number so why. hell, call it 1616! it kind of implies that in their now established infinite universes, they’re not even gonna acknowledge the comics 616 (wow i have to differentiate now) as existing. “that’s bc they’re live-action universes” ok but that’s boring, you don’t want to walk into a cartoon universe? some comic panels? that’s the backbone of all your movies.

also there’s the added element of people saying “the mcu is not the comics” (i say this! and we know!) and some saying “but we’re watching a MOVIE so it doesn’t have to be a 1:1 adaptation of your decades of storyline” to any little critique of a change or narrative framing, and a tiny few using 616 disparagingly to, idk, champion the movies (they’re doing fine). yet in the comics themselves, writers/editorial make changes to try to make the comics more closely match the mcu; even though the amount of people who get into the comics after watching the mcu, though not nonexistent (hi friends!), doesn’t significantly affect comic sales numbers; and even though everyone keeps saying they don’t want them to be the same. and then the mcu goes and calls itself 616. it stings.

in conclusion, give clint barton a skirt again
